It looks like a great day out was had by all. Only us Brits can go to the seaside and wear our coats. Did Munchkin manage to win much on the machines. I remember trying to give them a slight nudge with my hip when I was a child in an effort to dislodge the tuppences - oh dear what does that say about me.
Still sunny in October. We are so lucky with the Autumn weather this year, which slightly makes up for the summer, I suppose. Hope you brought back a stick of rock. Congrats to the boy, many happy returns!
Vintage Wants Not Needs - now I wouldn't want you feeling guilty about that nudging, I used to do exactly the same thing only it was more like a shove! Hen x
Those lovely seaside pics look very familiar to me, I think that you may have been visiting my neck of the woods, Id recognise that gull anywhere! My kids loved their trips to the seaside, a long walk along the promenade, £1.00 bag of 2p's in the amusements, followed by fish & chips and ride on the open top bus back. Such fond memories.
Lovely photos! Especially the one where Munchkin is eating his Knicker Bocker Glory with that most splendid check shirt on! Donkeys are such special animals :o)
Oooooh!!! I do love to be beside the seaside too. I am lucky to be only 5 minutes walk away now but there is nothing like the nostalgia of British Beaches to bring back such wonderful memories (now where did I put those deckchairs!!!) xxxx
I love the kitsch and garishness that sometimes comes with the seaside, it's just so fun isn't it? A belated happy Birthday to the munchkin, the sweetest boy in the world! Vanessa xxx

Hello and thank you for visiting the HenHouse. I'm a stay-at-home thirty-something mum looking after Mr HenHouse and the Munchkin, aged 11 (going on 15). We have three fabulous cats who we adore and spoil rotten: Charlie Boy, Vorey Puss and Jacky Ginge. We split our time between our Victorian home in London and our weekend bolthole in the West Country which is a dinky 16th Century thatched cottage. I have always loved vintage, particularly the pink and flowery. I have collections of eiderdowns, china and fabrics to name just a few. I love sewing and am an avid patchworker and quilter. As a family, we are dotty about the past and love the 1940s, often dressing up for re-enactment events. To fund my fabric habit, I have the occasional stall at craft fairs and sell handmade items over the 'net, too. Our homes have been featured in magazines and I'm pretty nutty about interiors.
